Once upon a time, there was a young basketball player who had dreams of becoming one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

曾經有個年輕球員夢想著要成為史上最偉大球員之一。

You have the opportunity to go to the NBA and against the greatest players in the world. If that doesn’t get you going I don’t think anything will. It’s like a dream come true.

有機會可以進入NBA跟世界上最偉大的球員對戰的機會，若這還不能驅使你向前，我不知道 還有甚麼方法可以辦得到了。這就像是夢想成真一樣。

I - I couldn’t even think of this when I was a kid you know just no way possible - it’s just you know- just a blessing from above.

我--當我小的時候我根本無法想像會這種可能--這就是上帝給的禮物吧。

The joy of the game comes from just being out there and playing. The competitive side of me feels like we can win every game that we play.

光是上場打球就已經是充滿樂趣；我心裡競爭的那面覺得我可以贏下每一場比賽。

What I’ve learned is to - to always keep going.

從這裡面我學到--就是一直努力向前。

Do you love the process [chuckles] that gets you to that? Those boring, agonizing moments if you love that then you know you found something that’s really true to you.

你喜歡在達到目標前的努力過程嗎？如果你喜歡那些無聊令人厭煩的時刻的話，那你就是 了解了甚麼是真正真實的東西。

You know if you do the work, you work hard enough, dreams come true. Those times where you get up early and you work hard. Those times where you stay up late and you work hard. Those times where you don’t feel like working - you’ re too tired - you don’t want to push yourself but you do it anyway - that is actually the dream.

你知道當你做了那些，你非常努力，夢想就會實現。那些你一大早就起來努力訓練的時 刻；那些你熬夜訓練的時刻；那些你不想訓練的時刻--實際上那些都是夢。

If you’re a fan of my mine, you’re a fan of winning. You’re a fan of the Lakers. That’s never gonna change.

Man, I gave my soul to this game and I could change nothing more I could give.

I wanted to be one of the best basketball players to ever play and anything else that was outside of that lane I didn’t have time for.

我想要成為史上最佳籃球員，籃球以外的事情我是沒有時間去弄的。

It’s - it’s not about my jerseys that are hanging up there for me you know it’s about the jerseys that were hanging up there before.

你知道那跟把我的球衣掛在那裏一點關係都沒有；那是跟之前就掛在那邊的球衣有關。

Growing up and watching all these great players play and learning so much from them to now be a part of that wall you know means everything to me.

從小看著那些偉大的球員打球，從他們身上學到許多，然後成為他們的一部分，這對我來 說就是一切。

You get older you start to understand that really it’s about the next generation l - that these championships do come and go but the most important thing you can do is pay everything that you’ve learned forward to the next generation that comes and that’s truly how you create something that lasts forever.

當變老的時候，開始瞭解到實際上這跟我們的下一代有關--冠軍來來去去，但是最重要的 是把我們學到的東西傳給下一代，那才是真正創造出永久不朽的東西。

I love storytelling - imagine like winning an Oscar... how ridiculous would that be?

我喜歡說故事--想像一下拿下一座奧斯卡...那會有多誇張呢？

Unfortunately for us athletes we’ve been pigeonholed into thinking that we can only be one thing. I’m here to show people that we can do much more than that. Winning an Oscar ... I mean those are things that are showing other athletes that come after, ‘No, no, there’s more to this thing’.

很不幸的，對於我們運動員，我們被歸類為是只能做一件事的人，所以我要來這邊跟大家 展現我們能做的更多。拿下奧斯卡...我的意思是，那些是展現給其他運動員看，他們追求 的，「不，不是只有這樣而已。」

The discipline, the commitment, the team, the community, how do I take those lessons and move those here? Having that sharp focus is something that I got from the game of basketball.

那些訓練，對比賽的投入，對球隊，對社區，我要如何把我學到的轉移到這裡呢？我從比 賽裡學到對事情有敏銳的專注。

You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in. My box was to be extremely ambitious within the sport of basketball. Your box is different than mine. Everybody has their own. It’s your job to try to perfect it and make it as beautiful of a canvas page you can make it and if you have done that then you have lived a successful life. You have lived with mamba mentality.

每個人要在他自己覺得舒適的環境才能有漂亮的發展，我自己認為的環境在運動界裡面是 極為有野心的；大家覺得舒適的環境跟我的不同，大家都會不一樣。但是這是大家自己的 責任把自己想要的環境弄得舒適弄得美麗。若是你做到了，那你就是過著成功的人生，你 就有了Mamba Mentality。

You know, being married to my wife Vanessa...it’s fun! Man, we have a good time together umm I love her tremendously and uh we’re best friends too. It’ s a blessing. When we were raising our daughters one of the things that we teach them is you gotta try your best. You just gotta give it your all. Give it everything you have.

大家知道，娶了Vanessa做老婆...真的是充滿樂趣！我們有著美好的時光，我真的很愛 她，我們是最好的朋友，那真的是幸運。我們在養大我們的女兒的過程，其中一件是我們 教他們的就是要盡其所能。要付出所有的努力，付出百分之百。

As parents, you’ve got to lead by example. If you want your kids to do whatever it is they want to accomplish in life, you have to show them.

而身為父母，要以身做則。若是想要小孩在人生中盡其所能的達到目標的話，就要表現給 他們看。

I have four girls so my mission is to make sure women have opportunities.

我有四個女兒，所以我的任務就是要確保女生有他們的機會。

Our daughters will grow up understanding that they can be strong, they can be independent, they can be fierce.

我們的女兒長大將會了解，他們可以是強壯的，可以是獨立的，可以是強悍的。

I just love spending time with my family. Just being a husband, being a father, being a goofball just having a good time with my kids.

我就是喜歡跟我的家人在一起，就是當個丈夫，當個爸爸，就是跟我的小孩們在一起共度 美好時光。

I grew up a die-hard... I mean a die-hard Laker fan... and to spend 20 years here - I mean you can’t write something better than this.

我從小就是湖人鐵粉，然後在這裡度過20年--不可能會比這更好的了。

I appreciate all of this. You know, the journey that we’ve been on... you know we’ve been through our ups and been through our downs... I think the most important part is that we all stayed together throughout. You guys will always be in my heart. Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart I... god, I love you guys! What can I say? Mamba out!
